Hot Doggett Bike rides

Our Volunteers

The Hot Doggett event maximizes the funds raised for community projects by relying on volunteer participation, such as the rest stop support shown above. 2018 volunteers were recognized by Volunteer Coordinator Jim Utterback with this note:

On  behalf of the Rotary Club of Madison County and the Hot Doggett  Organizing Committee, I want to say thank you for your role in helping  make the 13th annual Hot Doggett 100 a success. Your volunteer efforts  helped us to raise roughly $17,000 (net) to be used throughout the  coming year for numerous youth-related programs in our community. One of  the comments we get from many riders each year is that they think we  have the best volunteers and that they really appreciate all of the  support our ride offers. It is  also important to note that for our event to be successful, we rely on  over 100 volunteers. Thanks for making a difference! We hope that you will consider volunteering again in 2019.

Our Riders

Cyclists came from 17 different states - some as far  away as Texas and Oregon. Roughly 55% came from the greater Asheville  area (within 100 miles).

The  Hot Doggett 100 Bike Ride is our club's largest fundraiser and the  catalyst for the programs and opportunities that our club can offer the  community.  The Ride consists of three courses ranging from 37.5 mile  ride with 3,859 ft in total ascent to the signature 100.1 mile challenge  that gains over 10,000 ft in elevation over the length of the course.  The 14th annual Hot Doggett bike rides were on July 13, 2019.  Information on the 2020 rides will be posted soon.  All of the rides are well supported by members of the  club as well as a significant participation by the community volunteers.
